Let's just say that my style matches what students need: engaging, motivational, and connected to real life. If I'm not having fun during any given lesson, then I know my students are not having fun. If I become bored, they become bored. If they don't ask questions, then I haven't done my job to engage them. I love what I do and students can see that. Students love me because "I'm Real".
I have earned several awards from my colleagues and administration for my creativity. I have received several awards from my students.

I drive a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster to work- HarleyMom Proud parent of 2 great kids: Teresa who graduated from Paint Branch HS, Silver Spring, MD She grooms pets in North Carolina. She is also a great photographer! Travis who will graduate from Paint Branch HS in June 2014. He plays basketball for Paint Branch and will enlist when he graduates. He also drives a motorcycle. I graduated from Springbrook HS and Paint Branch was our rivals! I also went to White Oak Jr. HS(back then) and where I taught for 6 years...that was really interesting especially since I knew where all the hiding places are! I have lived in Silver Spring all of my life. I was always interested in teaching- I always played school when I was little and when I got to high school I participated in a program where I got to go to my old elementary school to help a teacher! The decision to actually go to college and become a teacher occurred when I was in high school. I realized that throughout my years in school, teachers had always let me slip by and promoted me to the next grade level. I disliked school with a passion and had even dropped out with no intention of going back. One day I opened my sister's diploma to look at and something hit me. I told myself I needed to go back to school because I wanted to become the kind of teacher I never had. I wanted to get students excited to come to school, have someone they looked forward to seeing, and help them learn all they could-and earn good grades...and that I did!
