I have had the amazing opportunity of working in education for a long time. I started out working in special education learning from those students and teachers. I then became a regular education teacher in both English and drama at the middle school level. I loved my time there and learned so much about how to help students truly understand the content. I now work within my district and at the state level due to my experience and training with the Common Core Standards. I am a facilitator for the Core and travel throughout my state and soon the entire nation in order to help teachers learn about the Common Core and how to implement the standards into their classroom. At my district, I teach online courses for educators and adults.

I am a very hands on type of person and know that our students are more geared towards kinesthetic learning. I try and create lesson plans that intrigue the students and help them to truly think critically.

I was nominated two years in a row for teacher of the year.

I received my Bachelor's of Science at WSU. I currently have a reading endorsement, ESL endorsement, and a theater endorsement.
