With 17 years of experience teaching musical ensembles and music theory, along with 10 years in adult education and study skills, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. I have a strong background in guiding students of all ages and skill levels, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for music. Additionally, as an experienced substitute teacher, I am adept at seamlessly stepping into various roles, from pre-K through 12th grade, including resource classes.

My teaching style is centered around creating a visual and hands-on learning environment. I firmly believe in meeting children where they are academically, recognizing and embracing their unique strengths and learning styles. By employing a variety of methods and techniques, I strive to cater to individual needs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Through visual aids, interactive activities, and engaging experiences, I aim to foster a deep understanding and love for learning, empowering children to confidently explore and excel in their academic journey.

With my experience in both the music education and business sectors, I have achieved remarkable results in guiding students and businesses towards success. Through my involvement in high school band programs and private music lessons, I have proudly taught over 20 students to successfully audition and secure positions in prestigious All-State and All-Area bands. This accomplishment highlights my commitment to nurturing talent, refining skills, and helping students achieve their musical aspirations. Furthermore, in my role as a business professional, I have played a pivotal role in turning around five struggling businesses, steering them away from bankruptcy and guiding them towards a path of prosperity. My expertise in strategic planning, problem-solving, and fostering a positive work culture has been instrumental in transforming these businesses into thriving and successful ventures.

With a diverse educational background, I bring a unique combination of knowledge and expertise to various fields. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance and Political Science from Concord University, allowing me to bridge the worlds of art and politics. Additionally, I have an Associate's degree in Applied Medical Science and hold a Paramedic/Emergency Medicine certificate, equipping me with the skills and understanding necessary to provide critical medical care. To complement my breadth of knowledge, I have also earned a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Charleston, which has deepened my understanding of strategic planning, organizational management, and financial analysis. This multidisciplinary education enables me to approach challenges from different perspectives and find innovative solutions across various domains.
