TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Dr. Gina Pepin holds an Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership, MS in Reading & Literacy K-6, and a post-graduate certificate in Reading, Literacy, and Assessment from Walden University. She is honored to be the 2018-2019 Upper Michigan Teacher of the Year and state finalist. Dr. Pepin is currently an elementary reading teacher in a rural school in Northern Michigan. She recently became a national author and co-wrote a professional learning book with children's book author Eric Litwin entitled “The Power of Joyful Reading; Help Your Young Readers Soar to Success” (Scholastic 2020). She offers professional workshops, trainings/developments, keynote speaking, and break-out session events both in person and virtually.

She serves on many state and national level committees designing teacher leadership frameworks, aligning assessments for retention policies, designing standards and survey items for the preparation of teachers and volunteers as an editor for the Michigan Reading Association Journal. Dr. Pepin also hosts family literacy workshops in her local area through the Great Start Collaborative including: “Talking is Teaching” & “Read and Rise”. She is an online instructor of graduate literacy courses for two universities: Grand Canyon University and Northern Michigan University and also serves as a University Supervisor for student teachers (NMU). She participates as a Content Expert on Dissertation Committees for GCU. Dr. Pepin continues to serve as a commissioner and board member for AAQEP - an Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation.
