11 years teaching Spanish at a public high school.
I try to create lessons that keep the students engaged and get them excited about learning Spanish. I believe that you can teach culture everyday, and that the students can learn the language while learning the culture at the same time. Each day I try to give my students the opportunity to listen, read, speak and write. I want them to forget that they are learning the language and to focus on the other interesting information that is being presented to them.

I have a Masters in the Art of Teaching Spanish at Rutgers University and a bachelor's degree in secondary Spanish education from Michigan State University.
I have spent a good amount of time living and studying in Spain. I have studied abroad in Alcalá de Henares and Sevilla, Spain. I also lived in Sanlucar de Barrameda (Cádiz, Andalucía), Spain for a year. I have taken three groups of students to Spain to participate in a Spanish-language Immersion program as well. The Spanish language and culture are my passion and I enjoy sharing that passion with students.
