- 1 year of teaching English to wonderful refugees and immigrants in NZ. I had my own class with a specific focus on ILN (intensive language and numeracy). My students were predominantly adult learners. -1 year of teaching and aiding socially disadvanted kids in Denmark in primary school. This was part of an inclusion-project known as KAEMP.nu. Daily tasks consisted of structuring their day, tutoring, 1on1 teaching, goal-setting, communication skills, social and cognitive practice, etc. - Most recently I've worked as a volunteer for Danish Red Cross Youth doing online homework help as well as mentoring and 1on1 tutoring through Mentor Denmark.
I believe every learner has untapped potential and I absolutely love the thrill of seeing my students 'crack the code' of learning. Teaching should be learner-centred and I value a classroom environment supporting growth, curiosity and trust. In my experience, working with children and adults on the fringe of the classroom, I've learnt that anything is possible if we believe in eachother and ourselves. Ultimately, that is what good teaching style is all about.
