Lawless Education

I have worked at a variety of different schools, including large international private schools, an International Baccleaurreate school, a small special needs private school, and Canadian public schools. I currently work as a grade 4 teacher at a community school on a First Nations reserve in Canada, and I love it. Outside of teaching, I have worked as a content writer, a hospital housekeeper, a poutine chef, and a camp counsellor.

I love working to engage all learners and am a huge proponent of inquiry-based, student-lead, experiential learning. I always start with formative assessment so I can meet students where they're at, and then work to balance effective skill building with hands-on learning experiences or project-based learning. I am a huge fan of resources that automatically differentiate learning, such as work-at-your-own-pace workbooks, as well as masterfully-designed projects that naturally flow without hours of prep on my part.
