In the past 40 years I have taught young children in both public and private schools. I've written curriculum for several programs. In recent years, I have worked with homeschool children, Ged students and even college students in my tutoring services. Wanting to share my knowledge with other teachers for the past four years I have written a blog, http://educationtipster.blogspot.com and published three children's books.

Because my background is in physical education and early childhood education, I have found enormous success in teaching phonics and math with movement. Studies have proven that moving to music and movement education help students learn quickly while having fun. Activities I've used like reciting consonant blends while jumping on them and throwing bean bags into a basket reading a word that uses that blend have cemented those skills for my students. Changing the words to all time favorite children's songs to inspire movement has also worked well in my classroom.

My first children’s picture book, "Moving Through All Seven Days," was published on Lulu. My next two picture books, "Sh, Sh, Sh Let the Baby Sleep," and "Trouble on Earth Day" were published in 2011. Both of these books have been awarded the Children’s Literary Classics Seal of Approval. "Sh Sh Sh Let the Baby Sleep," which features consonant blends and digraphs, won a silver award in the 2012 Children's Literary Classics book awards!

I earned a teaching degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a B S from Covenant Life Seminary, as well as graduate coursework from New York Institute of Technology and Columbia University. I've participated in numerous on-line writing conferences and was a member of Children's Writers Coaching Club.

As a freelance writer and ghostwriter, I have published over one hundred articles in directories, magazines and on websites.
