I have been teaching foreign languages for 15 years, as guest teacher or tutor for international schools and academies, from China to Belgium. The languages taught were: German, French, English as an Additional Language, and Dutch (both as foreign and as native language)

I let my students discover the language through their senses, either by listening to music, watching foreign cartoons or films, singing songs, baking a local dish or playing a local game... This immerses them in the foreign language, and before they realise it, they start absorbing the foreign words, and using the right grammar structures. Every month, I choose a different theme and look for material in the target language that engages the students.
