I worked for five years as a Geologist in the oil industry in my "first life." After I had my children I taught PreK for five years in a church preschool. Next, I was a substitute teacher for three years during the time when I went back to get my teaching degree. I taught first grade for 16 years, then I taught fourth grade Science and Alabama history for three years. Since I retired from public school I have been teaching science part-time to fourth - eighth graders!
My teaching style is hands on, with an integrated curriculum. I'm a science/outdoors geek and I love children's literature - both of which I use as often as I can in the classroom...and outside!
