TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach 4th grade at Pine View Elementary in Sarasota, Florida! Pine View is a full time gifted school that teaches students a grade level above their age. Therefore, I am teaching both fourth and fifth grade. I have worked at 3 different elementary schools throughout the county, ranging from Title 1 experience to full time gifted. This is my 10th year teaching-I can't believe how fast time has flown by!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style has definitely evolved over the years. The past four years, I have been a complete maniac with interactive notebooks. I generally start a strategy/lesson out whole class, using our notebooks. Then I have students break into groups to differentiate instruction. In these groups, students are engaged on hands-on activities and working with concrete, representational, and abstract concepts.
