This is my 20th year teaching. I started my career teaching elementary students (K -6) with learning disabilities. After five years in special education, I decided to teach in the general education setting so I could affect more students and have more control over the curriculum. I have taught third and fourth grade, but am currently teaching second grade in a suburb of Columbus.
I run my classroom like a special education classroom. I differentiate instruction for all students and spend a lot of time in small groups. Last year I have took on a blended approach to learning through the use of technology and individualized instruction. We are a STEM school, so many of my lessons are an integration of science, technology, engineering, and math.
I was selected as the 2005 Teacher Of The Year and have been selected to be a part of many district committees.
I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Education of the Handicapped (SLD). I received my Masters of Education from Ohio Dominican in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Technology and the 21st Century Skills.
