I am a Paediatric Speech Pathologist in a small private practice in Tasmania, Australia. I became a 'speechie' after 20 years in academia as a health researcher, lecturer and PhD supervisor. As a clinician, I've quickly learned the value of having a toolkit of fabulous resources I can call upon at a moment's notice - hence the name 'Hey Presto SLP'!
I am all about connecting with children 'where they are' and connecting with what interests them. My overarching goal is to be truly neurodiversity-affirming in everything I do, and to be an energetic and positive advocate for my clients and their families.
Executive Dean's Award for Academic Excellence - 2019
Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours, PhD (Sociology), Master of Speech Pathology.
I have three adult children who continue to inspire and amuse me. When I'm not working, you'll find me out in my beloved garden, checking out local cafes with my husband, or having an animated conversation with my two dogs :-)
