I developed this tracker to make sure I was giving my gifted education students opportunities for higher learning in their content area. The activities are general and can be tweaked to personalize them for each student. I use one sheet per student

I developed this blank rubric for my upper elementary art classes, but it can be used for any assignment or project that is a bit more subjective. It has five areas for objectives you want students to achieve in the project, an area for you to rate

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a gifted education teacher for the past three years and an art teacher for over 19 years in Illinois and Kentucky. I have worked part-time for Murray State University, College of Education, Center for Gifted Studies as the program director for their Summer Challenge and "Super Saturdays" programs for gifted students Kindergarten through 8th grade teaching and directing the program 2012-2016.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a layed back classroom management style as far as directing students to push the envelope and try new things. I want my students to learn the techniques and try new types of art media, but my art assignments are open-ended. I tell my students that I can't think of everything, and if they have a different way of doing something I want to give them the opportunity and supplies to try out their ideas.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was asked to be a member of the Gifted Education Advisory Committee for Western Kentucky.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S. in Art from Murray State University, a Master's of Education from Murray State University, a certification in Art Education and an endorsement in Gifted Education and Teacher Leader.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married to a wonderfully supportive man and have three children who are all very creative! We live on a farm and have lavender and pearl guineas, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and Nigerian Dwarf goats at the moment. We work in our flower and vegetable gardens and like being busy.
