My initial experiences leading up to my career as a school counselor were in my teenage years babysitting and working as a camp counselor in the summers. My teaching experience was focused on the wee littles, working as a preschool teacher while in undergrad. My counseling experiences have been centered around elementary-aged students, where my passion really lies. I've also provided counseling to young adults in a University Counseling Center during grad school. I also serve on my school's PBIS and MTSS teams.
I aim to provide engaging and creative learning experiences for students while aligning my curriculum with the American School Counseling Associations' Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success. My counseling interventions are strongly aligned with Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
