TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I absolutely love my job in education! I started out teaching 1st and 2nd grade, and let me tell you, 1st grade was always my favorite. After a little while, I went back to school and got my Masters in Counselor Education. I switched gears a bit and became an Elementary/Middle School Counselor. I even worked as a High School Counselor for a bit, but then I had my triplet boys! After my maternity leave, I went back to my roots and worked in Elementary/Middle School for a few years before finally settling back into my happy place in elementary school. Every day is such a joy!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I align my teaching style with the ASCA standards and incorporate various classroom teaching modalities during whole group lessons. As for my counseling approach, I employ a combination of Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

I really believe in pursuing what makes us happy. For me, that means being both a teacher and a school counselor. I love learning new things and creating resources that can help others. Being a mom to my three 14-year-old boys brings me so much happiness. They've taught me so much and helped me grow every day. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better!
