I started teaching in 2020 while completing my certification in Secondary English Education. I have taught English I, English III, English III Honors, Theatre Arts, and ACT Prep.
I believe that all students deserve to be treated like humans first in the classroom. When students feel comfortable in the classroom, they're able to fully engage with content. As teachers, we know that we're dealing with a literacy crisis and biased standardized testing that doesn't accurately measure our students' intelligence/college readiness. I create these resources for other teachers to help address these issues for our students' benefit!
I have earned multiple awards at my school for creating engaging, fast-paced lessons while maintaining grace and attentiveness for my students.
I graduated in 2019 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with my bachelor's degree in both English and Dramatic Arts. I completed my graduate certificate in Secondary English Education in 2021 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
As a young teacher, I remember what it felt like when I first started teaching. Even though I had received adequate instruction to be a teacher, actually being in the classroom was completely different from what I expected! I want to share my lessons/activities with other teachers who want to support their current curriculum or are in search of new ideas. Whether you need a lesson for one day or an entire novel unit, I'm here to help!
