I am teaching and have taught undergraduate courses in Interpersonal Communication, Social Sciences, Public Speaking, and Introduction to Psychology. In my mental health capacity I have provided biopsychosocial assessments of new clients; conducted therapies for individuals, couples, and groups.

Additionally, I have made referrals and consulted with community-based agencies both in the US Air Force and in a civilian capacity upon my Honorable Discharge.

While in San Antonio, Texas, I taught English as a Second Language, Pre-GED, and Basic Education classes to adult students in courses of Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, and Writing covered by the GED exam.

As an Instructor of Social Work, I also taught undergraduate Social Work courses for Criminal Justice, Liberal Arts, and Social Work majors and monitored and supervised social work students participating in practicum at community-based agencies.

At the college level and in employee training I utilized a student-oriented focus by asking questions rather than lecturing students in order to help them develop their critical thinking skills and self-confidence that will then help them set and achieve academic and professional career goals.

I began my teaching career as a Teacher's Aide with a Head Start program in Oxnard, California in 1968. Years later I served as a Mental Health Consultant.with Head Start of the Virgin Islands, on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
