My name is Donna DuBois Van Deurzen (DVD). I am currently a second grade teacher although I have experience teaching kindergarten through 5th grade. During my 20 years as a professional educator I have also worked as a staff development specialist, technology teacher, and served as a teacher leader in my building and district.
I teach at a very progressive public elementary school. We are lucky to focus on project based learning through the arts. We also have a very strong STEAM focus. We are a learning community and together we keep education exciting and fun. :) One of my talents is creative lesson planning and unique teaching. During the upcoming school year, I hope to share some lessons based in PBL, Visual Arts, and STEAM which I use in my own classroom.
I was honored to be awarded 2010 Oregon Teacher of the Year! It was one of the many highlights in my 20 years of teaching.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University, and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership & Curriculum Development from the University of Oregon. Go Ducks!
I am a wife and loving mother of 5 beautiful children!
