TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Certified Addiction Specialist I with a degree in Social and Behavioral Science. Three-time award winning public speaker in the field of yout h drug abuse education and prevention. My books and programs have been endorsed by the Los Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles County Office of Education, Junior Achievement, and members of the Los Angeles City Council for use in all their public schools at respective levels

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy teaching through personal connection with my students. The subject matter I teach revolves around very sensitive human conditions which many people are initially afraid to broach. I have had the best results when I share my own experience, innermost frailties and tragic mistakes, thereby giving kids and adults the sense of safety they need to share themselves openly and honestly in relationship to the material I teach. That's when they really learn and absorb the material, when it becomes personal to them.
