Lifelong learning and innovative teaching are my passion. I love seeing students motivated and taking ownership of their learning experiences. I have been teaching for 20 years. I began with developing a pre-k class, at a new school, which I taught at for several years while working on my MultiSubject Credential. Upon finishing the program, I taught at the 1st and 3rd grade levels, in San Diego. After moving to Northern California, I began working at an innovative charter school, where I've been teaching for the past 15 years. I love collaboration, sharing ideas and mentoring new teachers. For many years, I have created organizational tools for teachers and homeschool families. I have also written curriculum unit plans, elective courses and thematic units for grades K-8.
I love encouraging learning activities that are hands-on, cross-curricular, literature-based and fun. I incorporate thematic units, creative projects and technology to provide collaborative opportunities for students to learn and explore. Transfer of enthusiasm is essential to developing lifelong learners.
