I have been teaching in Colorado for 5 years. I have an undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and a Master's degree Special Education. I have worked as an in-building resource teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing, a self-contained classroom teacher, a kindergarten teacher, and am now a teacher of the Deaf and hard of hearing.
In order to teach successfully I rely on formative practices and high leverage strategies, differentiation, and trauma informed teaching practices. These components help me to have a thriving community of learners who have their needs met and whom care deeply about each other.

I am native to Colorado and did my K-12 education in the Denver Public School district in various inner-city schools. I completed my undergraduate degree through the University of Colorado and my graduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
In addition to teaching, I co-founded a nonprofit dance studio for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, and who have special needs.
