Dawnitta Henson

I am a wife of 30 years, a mom to 2 beautiful daughters, and a 1st grade teacher of 18 years. I want to share my knowledge gained through the years and my deep connection to teaching math and phonics to 6-7 year olds. I have 18 years of experience teaching in Arkansas, Kindergarten through 2nd grade in 2 different school districts. I have mentored many new teachers coming into the field of education and have so many resources to share.

I always hold high expectations for my student so I can see them rise and achieve what they never thought they could. I always thing about standards to be taught and how to engage students that will provide easy quick checks on their learning.

My biggest honor was to become CGI trained to be able to implement my love of math in a 3 year run of being departmentalized solely teaching math to K-2nd graders. Watching my Kindergarten group spiral up with me for 3 years was an amazing honor and know that I had instilled the love of math in each of them.
