Dawn McGhee

I have taught Kindergarten for 21 years. I began my teaching career in the inner-city of Newark, N.J. I now teach in the Southern New Jersey region.

My style mostly includes...MAKING LEARNING FUN!! Motivate children and make them want to love learning. I love teaching Kindergarten because they come in eager to please and ready to learn. At the end of our day, if the children aren't sad to leave..I haven't accomplished my job. I am so lucky because I just LOVE what I do. I LOVE switching it up and creating new and exciting ways of learning. I use lots of The Readers Workshop, The Writer's Workshop, and Math and the Common Core.

I have received a nomination from my building principal for the Disney Teacher of the Year, I have received the Award, Teacher of the Year for my district in the year 2005. I received the Southern Region Teacher of the Year in 2005 from the Masonic Lodge in Linwood, NJ. I receive annual awards from our Foundation of Education for mini grants to use in my classroom.
