I have taught preschool, first grade, 4/5 combo, and 5th grade. While I have loved all of the grades that I have taught, my passion lies with the upper grades.

I aim to create thinkers by designing problem based lessons that require students to problem solve on their own or in groups rather than just being taught how to do something. I believe students should feel empowered by learning and given opportunities to develop their own understanding before being told what to do. In my opinion, learning develops most when students are given the chance to talk to each other, reason creatively, and learn from their mistakes.

I hold a masters degree in elementary mathematics, specifically focusing in problem based mathematics. I am incredibly passionate and excited to share my experiences in the subject.
