TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 5th Grade for 9 years and I loved it! During my 9th year I was finally chosen by a birth mom to adopt her baby! I have been a stay at home mom since and now have 2 little girls and an awesome husband.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is laid back and fun! I wanted each student to feel liked and seen by me every day. I started wacky themes in my class such as Tutu Tuesday where students and teachers would dress in fun clothes. I always tried to solve discipline issues by simply having a conversation with the student(s). So often, they just need to be heard and we can all get back to learning!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated for Teacher of the Year in my school district. I enjoyed presenting at multiple inservices and sharing the fun we were having in 5th grade! My favorite compliments were when students would say that in my class, they learned to love reading.
