Carrie Franzwa is a graphic artist by trade, specializing in clipart, logo design, and adult-interest coloring images for senior living communities and hospitals (SpryArtist.com). Also a successful veteran K-8 home school educator, Carrie is the mother of three biological children, and two foster children, now in their college years. Carrie’s personal passion for history went unrealized until the age of 40, when she discovered antique tea ware on eBay. From there her love for everything old blossomed, and she began learning a number of historical technologies. She is now well known for her manufacture of 1930’s-style wooden jigsaw puzzles, and for her teaching of reenacting skills, including historical costuming and pottery making. Carrie is active in her community, serving on church boards, lecturing on Thanksgiving history, and participating in Native American heritage restoration classes and projects. Carrie and husband, David, have published a number of history-related websites which they call “social works in progress,” including LetsPlayHistory.org, 3SunThanksgiving.com, and SwingMeAgain.com. The family resides in the small town of Lebanon, Oregon.
