TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching English for 12 years. I started out in alternative education at a high school in Utah. Working with this population of students meant I had to create engaging and interesting lessons in order to keep many different style learners interested in the content I was teaching. From Utah, I moved back home to New York and have since taught a variety of subjects and grade levels, from alternative ed. to A.P. My favorite course is one I developed and am teaching now called, "Call of Wild" With an obvious nod to the Jack London book, but specific to non-fiction adventure, I hope to give students the experience of enjoying narrative non-fiction as an alternative to the general fiction and classics that they traditionally read.
