Bits and Bites

I've taught first, second, and third grades in the public school system and understand the enormous demands teachers face each day. After achieving National Board Certification, I began researching ways to increase student engagement while lessening work-stress demands and teacher burnout. I love to find efficient and effective ways to help teachers cope. I am using more goals-related tasks and self-assessments in my classroom with promising results.

Hands-on learning with a variety of materials and experiences are my preferred methods of teaching. Oh, and everything with technology amps engagement!

I am the mother of 3 "launched" children and the wife of the most incredible man on Earth. I have 2 older, yet wiser, beagles. We keep a lint roller in every room of the house because of the presents they leave on our clothing! I love to quilt, cook, and read. But most of my free time is spent searching for new teaching ideas and resources.
