I have 21 years experience teaching all levels of Biology, including general biology, and several years of advanced placement. I also teach Forensic Science and Zoology as elective courses.
I have a passion for life science and do my best to spread that to my students. I try to make learning fun and incorporate hands-on activities and real-world examples as much as possible. I pride myself on organization, hard work, and creativity.
- HHS Teacher of the Year 2020, 2016, & 2013. - Ranked Most Effective Teacher (Top 44 in the state of Ohio) and Level 5 (significantly above the average school in the state/testing pool) for the ACT End of Course Exam based on my students' scores for the 3 consecutive years we participated in testing. - Ranked Level 5 (significantly above the average school in the state/testing pool) for our State Standardized Test based on my students' scores for the 3 consecutive years we participated in testing. Most recently earning a 9.4 effectiveness growth score.
I received my Bacherlors degree in Life Science Education in May 2003 and my Masters degree in Educational Technology in August 2009, both at Ashland University. I'm a huge advocate of Professional development and attend as many conferences and classes as possible.
