Bilingual Sprouts

I have been working with pre-K and Kindergarten students for the past 5 years. I am currently a bilingual kindergarten teacher in a public school in New Jersey.

I believe student should have the freedom to make meaning and sense out of their world. They should explore and fulfill their curiosity through guided inquiry and guided instruction. Learning should be child- centered and child-directed. As teachers we should strive to make children independent and accountable for their learning. Even with the changes and the rigors that the common core brings us at an early age, there is no reason why learning and teaching should not be fun and that is what I strive for in my classroom. Never give up!

I studied some early childhood education, elementary education, and now pursing a M. Ed (English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education).

I have 2 boys; a 4 year old and a 2 year old! :-)
