Barbara Moldavon

I have taught junior high language arts and coached award winning academic decathlon teams for 12 years. By 8th grade, the class average in reading and grammar is a 12th grade level. Many of my students enter top Los Angeles high schools with honors at entrance. In 2011, ten of my students were offered scholarships.

I use a variety of strategies in my classroom to keep the students actively engaged. Humor and student involvement is critical. I use music, interactive websites, Youtube, quizhub, Brainpop, magazines, novels, and short stories to teach standards and benchmarks. Technology is embedded in lessons.
