Ashley Hare

I began my practicum with the Georgia Southern University Education program at Southeast Bulloch Middle School and then my final internship under guidance of Mrs. Angie Sorrier at Screven County High School. I graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2007 and became a certified Business Education and Computer Science Teacher with the Griffin-Spalding County School System in Griffin, GA. After ten years of teaching in the Griffin-Spalding County School System I began teaching with the Fayette County Board of Education also as a Business Education and Computer Science Teacher. I have found a new home in Gwinnett County serving and helping other teachers and students learn about Computer Science and Technology.

I love project-based learning. I usually assess student understanding on the standards that I teach from having them create projects that are actually used around the school. I am hands-on but I also use an independent approach so that my students will learn to create and use the projects themselves.

At Carver Road Middle School, under the system leadership of Superintendent Dr. Curtis Jones, I was nominated for one of the Teacher of the Year finalist at my school for the 2007-2008 school year. I also received Teacher of the Month in December 2012. At Flat Rock Middle School, under the system leadership of Superintendent Dr. Joseph (Jody) C. Barrow, Jr. I was nominated for one of the Teacher of the Year finalist at my school for the 2016-2017 school year, the 2017-2018 school year and the 2020-2021 school year. I also received the Golden Eagle Award for the month of October 2016, November 2018, and Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. I achieved my STEM education endorsement from GriffinRESA in the Spring of 2021.
