TEACHING EXPERIENCE

If it involves English, I've probably taught it! In the 20 years I have been teaching, I have taught 5th through 12th grade English in both private and public school. I have taught gifted, regular, inclusion, ELL, and remedial. My first 8 years were in Florida, and the rest have been in North Georgia.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that every student can learn and be successful, but they have to be willing to try. I try to bring the real world into my classroom. I love to use technology and challenge students to think about things in new ways. I believe reading and writing are integrally connected and cannot be taught in isolation.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2010 -- Teacher of the year for my school 2002 -- Outstanding Educator for Pinellas County, Florida

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a true teacher nerd! I love to create new materials for my class, and I rarely ever teach the same exact lesson twice.
