I have taught 4th grade for about 5 years now. I have specialized in 4th grade literacy and social studies for 3 of those years. I work with predominantly ELL students in a Dual-Language Immersion Program. Many of my resources integrate ESOL strategies throughout the presentations, not as a separate entity.
My teaching style is about encouraging a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around them! It's critical for teachers to consider students' background knowledge when creating lessons and resources. I always start with where students are and consider their cultural perspective, and my resources reflect that!

I teach in Lawrenceville, Georgia and I love ELA and Social Studies! I am especially passionate about studying history that not only teaches the standard, but encourages students to be critical of different perspectives. Literacy is a way for students to become caring, reflective, and empathetic individuals, and I hope you can see that in the work I plan on producing.
