TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been working with d/Deaf and hard of hearing children and their families since 1996. About half of my career has been in early intervention / family service work, the other half at the intermediate and middle school grade levels.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching in my specialty area is a team effort. Strengthening and supporting that team pays off for the students in the long run! Working with an extremely diverse group of learners (different grade levels, learning styles, levels of residual hearing, language preferences, etc.) requires a delicate balance of compassion and high expectations. Every day is filled with new and exciting challenges. It's never easy, but it's never boring, either!

Finalist, Dean's Medal, CSUS 1996 Winner, IMPACT George Attletweed award Finalist, Stanislaus County Teacher of the Year 2013 Finalist, Carolyn Dobbs Award (CSU Fresno) 2014
