TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am an enthusiastic Special Educator at a public high school. I have had difficulty finding age appropriate resources for my high school students who have significant different abilities. I am now making materials myself and loving every minute. I have worked 12 years as a Para Educator in Special Education and served over 120 students. I am now entering my fourth year as a General Education K-12 Special Educator. I am excited today as I was my first day.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a firm believer in the magic of hands on, experimental teaching. I use visuals as often as possible as I think in pictures. I find this visual language, as Temple Grandin coined " thinking in pictures" works well with my non verbal students. Have fun and enjoy your students. Teachers shape the world one kid at a time.
