TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught secondary science for the past six years- teaching a variety of courses (Physical Science, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, and more). Beyond teaching in the classroom, I have also taken part in numerous curriculum writing projects for my district- creating curriculum to support teachers via Next Generation Science Standards.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a hands-on science approach and attempt to teach through hands-on experiences, virtual activities, and real world applications. Working in a crowded classroom, with 30+ students it takes extra planning to engage the room with the activity- and give experiences rather than notes. Due to the pandemic, I have also worked to create independent, self contained assignments to take the place of my many staple labs.
