First year teacher in 3rd grade with an ECE background.
For my future students, I want to be able to serve as a role model who creates and continually models for them an inclusive, respectful environment that supports the educational journey of each individual. When my students move on and embark on their next endeavors, I want them to remember me as an influential educator and supporter of their dreams, goals, and aspirations. The best things I believe we can do for our students is know they are cared for and have a consistent support system in their classroom. I hope to influence my students to become well educated, active, and responsive citizens in our diverse society as well as equipped for any and every college, career, or life experience.

My decision to become an early childhood, primary grade level educator is a process that began as a young child. Through the intentional, embedded learning opportunities my mother provided for me, I now recognize, as a young adult, the importance in formative learning and role of the parent in the early years of education. While in high school, I became involved with my own babysitting business, volunteering as a church summer camp leader, and a leader at my high school's elementary cheerleading clinic. I chose Iowa State University to pursue Early Childhood Education, as I quickly realized the support, academic excellence, and program opportunities were a cut above the rest. As I conclude my experiences through Iowa State, I fully see myself as the educator I have been growing into from an early age. One of the most important reasons for wanting to become a teacher is to utilize my skills of inventiveness and creativity, ability to develop intentional, powerful interactions and relationships, and strong communication in building partnerships with families. I also have the desire to have the opportunity in supporting the learning and developmental process of young people into engaged, active citizens that are prepared for an ever-changing society, as well as college and career ready.
My wonderful husband and I were married on 9-24 of this year (yes, after a month of being in school my FIRST year of teaching). We love to cheer on the ISU Cyclones, Chicago Cubs, and Minnesota Vikings.
