I have been lucky enough to teach Kindergarten for 18 years and have loved every minute of it! Prior to that, I taught Nursery School for 6 years. I was fortunate to be able to develop the curriculum for our Kindergarten program based on the Common Core Standards and also have the flexibility to add creative and engaging activities. It's a blessing to wake up and want to go to work each day! (Minus the occasional snow day! -- LOL ) We surely have the best job ever!!
My program has a hands-on, developmentally appropriate curriculum that is tailored to each child’s learning style and needs. The program involves the children in meaningful, learn-by-doing activities that are fun, engaging, and educational. I strive to support my students in developing great character as well as a life-long love of learning. “You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” -- Clay P. Bedford.
