This is my 20th year teaching in the Public School System.
The Facilitator Style I encourage self-learning in the classroom through increased peer to teacher learning.I ask students to question rather than simply have the answer given to them. Students are expected to explore to find solutions and analyze their learning to gain more in-depth knowledge of the material.
Teacher or the Year
I possess a Masters' degree Reading and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have certifications in Reading K-12, Elementary Education, ESE, and ESOL.
I am ambitious! I believe my passion and love for teaching has allowed me to improve the teaching profession by teaching myself first. My education is ongoing and I feel as though I am a lifelong student. Whenever possible, I attend professional development seminars to stay abreast of the latest teaching research and trends in schools. Continuing to further my own knowledge assists me in using the best strategies and techniques to increase student achievement. I believe that in this way, I am improving and furthering the teaching profession.
