Description
I started thinking about making this resource as I was listening to "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac and the lyrics are "Thunder only happens when it rains." Well, that's just not true. :) Or what about when U2 gets MLK's time of death wrong? Yeah, there are tons are lyrics out there that are just lies.
This is a soft brain-stretching trivia activity for your students. It's an organized handout with 20 lyrics excerpted from songs. Have them jot down what they believe is the inaccuracy/untruth. Then you will go over the "answers" with them (teacher answer key provided). You can use this in just about any class, or especially in English Language Arts where you teach how much words matter.
