Great way to quickly make rhythm cards for my students to practice recorder. They found them easy to read and play.
These cards can be used in SO many ways! My favorite so far has been using them to play rhythm garbage. The kids love being able to crinkle up their paper and shoot a basket. It is a great way to practice reading rhythms, while having fun! :)
Description
This is a PDF of 16 flashcards (2 per page - horizontally). I suggest cutting (one quick cut with a paper cutter on the whole stack and you're ready to go) and laminating them so they last for years!!
Rhythm syllables include quarter note, barred eighth notes, and quarter rest...
or ta, ti-ti, and rest (however you choose to teach it).
I teach very closely to the Kodaly philosophy and have found that just including the note heads works best for me and my students. If you need cards without the noteheads, I encourage you to first try these, but let me know and I can try to put some up with just stick notation.
