Description

Predicting the Weather: Cloud Types Reader's Theatre Script

Level 1

Utilize this Level 1 Reader's Theatre script to help your students learn about the different types of clouds in the sky and what they mean. This fun script reinforces reading skills, science standards, science vocabulary, fluency, and speaking and listening skills in a simple, yet engaging format.

Students will learn about cumulus, cirrus, nimbus, and stratus clouds with fun characters and vocabulary rich dialogue.

This is a Level 1 script meaning this would be perfect for your "below grade level" or struggling readers (around the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th grade level). This could be a great script for kinder or 1st graders on grade level. There are 5 roles with 1 role that has a heavier speaking part. Science vocabulary is underlined to reinforce science content and understanding.

This would be a great tool to use in guided reading groups or in science centers. The repetition of reading a script can really help struggling readers to feel more confident in their abilities as they practice their lines. To extent it further, you could have students design a backdrop and props and perform this play for their classmates or families.
