Playing Test Rubric
Description
Have you given a playing test, and assigned a score, only to look back on it later and ask "What did they actually know" or "What did they actually do wrong"?
This is a detailed rubric that I use with my students to give them feedback on how they did on the their playing test. Sometimes students send me recorded playing tests so I have a chance to listen to them multiple times and provide detailed feedback. I make this sheet available to students before the test so that they can see exactly how they will be assessed. I've also had students assess themselves on how they did on the playing test and usually my score and their score are pretty close.
I've used this with both my Middle School and High School ensembles and have had great success.
The numbers/letters above the score column refer to the Power Standards and Learning Targets for my ensemble. A full list of the standards can be found on My Store as well.
