Description

Once you have taken a running record, how can you use the results? This packet is a follow-up to “Off and Running with Running Records” (a free download), and it provides a variety of information about what to do if you are concerned about your student’s reading comprehension. This packet includes a description of comprehension and where it fits in the CCSS. It includes an explanation of typical concerns and how to address them. There are also sample graphic organizers. The strategies presented can be used with the whole class, in guided reading groups, by paraeducators and classroom volunteers, or in literacy stations. Finally, there is a letter to families describing how to reinforce comprehension at home.
