Description
A set of nine poems consisting of: "Martin Luther King, Jr. Day," "Presidents Day," "Memorial Day,"
"Flag Day," "Independence Day," "Labor Day," "Columbus Day," "Veterans' Day," and "Thanksgiving Day," with a brief introductory poem. The poems are designed to contain information about people and events that are important enough to be honored by National Holidays, and conform to the Georgia Standard SSKH1: The student will identify the purpose of national holidays and describe the people or events celebrated.
The poems give teachers a different way to approach the teaching of a subject that is required, in a way that is fun and instructive, especially designed for kindergarten or prekindergarten students.
They have been written by Nancy Bloom, a former kindergarten parapro.
