Description

Choir and Music Class ‘Do Nows’, ‘Bell Ringers’, ‘Daily Board Work’ Volume 2 – call them what you want but these beginning of class activities will keep your students busy. One for every other day of the year or a full semester class, these ‘Do Nows’ offer a variety that will keep your students engaged in musical thought. These will allow you time to take attendance, check in with students, etc. at the beginning of class and provide a routine for the students. This product contains 4 PowerPoints. At less than $0.15 a day, these bell ringers will save you time and keep students engaged.

PowerPoints included are:

Listening & Questions #2

Students will be able to hear some more great choral music (an example is given or you can use your own) and write a response to the question. Higher level thinking skills are put to work as they pull from their own personal experience and opinions.

Rhythms #2

Remember your college days and clapping and counting rhythms? Everyone has to start somewhere. These rhythms use whole, half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth notes and rests. I have my students copy them on their Daily Board Work paper and write in the counting underneath. Then we go over them together.

Scrambled Italian Terms

Who doesn’t like a good word scramble? These terms are ones your students will probably be familiar with. It can be a great way to keep them in their minds and to point out in your music. Separated into similar words together, the first letter of the word is capitalized to help them get going. Don’t worry, the answers are on the slide after the scramble!

Think About it Questions

Here are some thinkers for your students about being a performer and singing. They will allow students to put themselves in a performers shoes and think about the famous people they look up to. Or, maybe why being up on stage isn’t for them. Be sure to let your students know up front what you expect in their response.
