Description
This product includes 284 minimal pair cards differing by sound feature. They were created using the Auditory Discrimination Hierarchy, or Listening Ladder, created by Dave Sindrey, M.Cl.Sc., LSLS Cert. AVT. This hierarchy was created to be used with students with hearing loss, as they acquire spoken language through listening; however, the cards may also be used with students with normal hearing working on auditory processing or auditory discrimination goals.
The hierarchy begins at level 1, with sounds differing by duration, intensity and pitch. It progresses by difficulty though ten steps, ending with discrimination of words with final consonants differing by place of articulation.
Print the pages, and cut out the cards (4 per page). Present individual cards to the student with the stimulus, “Show me ______.”
This is a great resource for working on (or collecting data on) auditory discrimination!
