Description
Students will identify how illustrations add to a story (i.e. create mood, emphasize aspects of a character or setting). They will also connect illustrations with the text to draw conclusions, and identify the sections of a fictional passage that an illustration reflects.
These reading comprehension worksheets have a mini-lesson and reference notes at the top to serve as an anchor, followed by a fictional reading passage and several multiple choice/open response questions. Tips are included next to some commonly asked questions to mentor students on how to best answer them. Use as test prep, or to teach and practice the fundamentals of answering questions that refer to a story’s illustrations.

- 19+ questions, with simulated standardized test questions for third, fourth & fifth grade
